On December 1, 2020, the 8th New Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exchange Event was held in the Great Hall of the People. On the same day, the 8th "China Overseas Chinese Community Contribution Award" ceremony was held, with Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Bai Ma Chilin, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wan Gang and other participants and awarding prizes to the winners' representatives. Professor Teng Gaojun, president of Zhongda Hospital, won the first prize of the 8th China Overseas Chinese Community Contribution Award.

　　Established in 2003 by the Chinese Overseas Chinese Federation, the "Contribution Award for the Chinese Overseas Chinese Community" is a major award for innovation and entrepreneurship in the overseas Chinese community. With the support of the Central Organization Department, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology and other units, it has been successfully held eight times so far, and has played a positive role in encouraging overseas Chinese talents to base themselves on their duties, build their careers and serve the country.
